A newly-retired, international undercover-operative returns to the city of his birth, Houston... After twenty tumultuous years abroad, Atom is ready for some quiet time. So he builds a machine shop in Southwest Houston, a few miles from the hospital where he was born and then promptly abandoned; and he begins learning the art of rebuilding vintage motorcycles. While in the earliest stage of his first project, a 1966 Honda Super Hawk, Atom hears on his police scanner the ongoings of a massive sex trafficking syndicate raid. Upon receiving the case file later that night, he learns of how the Mondragon sex trafficking syndicate was selling young girls and women under threats of violence, harm to their families and torture; they were placed under twenty-four-hour surveillance and were raped by thousands of the Mondragon’s male customers over a span of no less than a decade. These were child sex slaves, Atom realized, and they were just up the road, a few miles north of his new shop. As a result of this case and its failed sentencing, Atom opens a new investigation, his own investigation, and the level of darkness he proceeds to uncover is unlike anything he ever could’ve anticipated.
